Motto, Logo and Uniform finalised

We have decided on our motto, supported by 97% of people who came to our Parent and Community evening this week. Our motto is: RISE. We will RISE to the challenge, RISE to the occasion and RISE each day for the challenges ahead. In RISE we will also use it as an acronym to focus on: RESPECT and RESILIENCE; INTEGRITY and INCLUSION; SUCCESS and SINCERITY; and EXCELLENCE and EMPATHY. We will RISE to meet and exceed all others' expectations of us to provide an exceptional and supportive learning environment for all our students.

Our logo has been finalised. We use the elements of: 

1. Wattle (as Melonba is an Aboriginal word for the Black Wattle that grows in the area)

2. Our children (the centre of our focus, gathered around the central hub of our school for learning and community)

3. The Star (signifying our relentless pursuit of excellence and success). Colours used represent -  BLUE: the waterways of the Hawkesbury/Nepean that were so important to the Darug People - YELLOW: The wattle and a sense of enthusiasm and optimism - ORANGE/OCHRE: The earth and land that we walk and has been cared for by the Darug people.

Our school uniform has been decided with 75% of those at our Parent and Community meeting this week agreeing to the proposals. A 'formal uniform' with Lemon Shirt/Blouse; Navy Trousers/Slacks/Shorts: Navy and Orange Sports Polo; Burnt Orange Woollen Jumper; Navy Softshell Jacket with orange trim amongst other elements. Black leather school shoes (with a heel) are required for the 'main' uniform. We will provide further details as soon as we can, as we are working with our uniform suppliers to ensure that it is all ready to purchase and receive by the end of this year. The Formal jacket will be navy (not pictured) and we are working on school tie designs to present to our community.
